At Skischule Flachau we are with you from your first turns to targeted improvement of your technique. Since 1967 we have been passing on the joy of skiing and other winter sports in courses for children and adults. You will find us at two locations in Flachau, right at the valley stations of the Starjet 1 and Spacejet 1 lifts.

For almost six decades we have been helping children and adults learn to ski and improve their technique.
A qualified, carefully prepared team
Our team includes state-certified ski instructors as well as regional ski instructors (Landesskilehrer). Further training in sports psychology and teaching methods is a matter of course for us.
Child-friendly lessons
We work with playful exercises and an educational curriculum. Your child is given time to build confidence and develop their skills.

Two locations right at the lift
At Starjet 1 and Spacejet 1 you will find our ski school offices, children’s areas and practice slopes right next to each other. That keeps distances short on site.

Children’s courses: learning to ski with joy
At our children’s ski school in Flachau, children learn to ski through play and become more confident step by step. From little ones to teenagers we offer suitable options for different age groups and ability levels: The youngest gain their first experience in one-to-one lessons. Group courses are available from the age of three and a half, with separate options for nursery-age children, school children and teenagers.
Ski courses in Flachau for adults: from beginner to advanced
Do you want to stand on skis for the first time, get back on the slopes after a long break or improve your skiing technique? Our adult courses help you build up the basics and consolidate your movement patterns.

Private lessons: tuition for your goals
In private lessons your wishes, your pace and your skiing ability take centre stage. You can work on individual movements, ski with less effort or ease your uncertainties with sensitive support. Private lessons are available for children and adults, and together with family or friends.

Frequently asked questions about Skischule Flachau
Which course suits my skiing ability?
When booking online you can choose your ability level. The videos provided help you compare. If you are unsure, we will advise you personally. There are different options for beginners, intermediate skiers and returning skiers.
Group lessons or private lessons: which suits me better?
A group course suits you if you want to learn with others and share your progress. Private lessons offer more room for individual wishes, your own learning pace and targeted work on your technique. Personal support can also help if you feel unsure.
From what age can children take a ski course?
For the youngest we offer one-to-one lessons. You can book them easily at our office by email or phone. Group courses are possible from the age of three and a half. Depending on age and stage of development there are different options for nursery-age children, school children and teenagers.
Are there ski courses for beginners and returning skiers?
Yes. Our courses for children and adults cater to different ability levels, from the very first time on skis to returning after a long break. If you want to improve your technique in a targeted way, you will also find a suitable option with us. Simply choose your level when you book the course. Videos for each ability level help you choose.
Where is the meeting point for my ski course?
The meeting point depends on the course you have booked and the location. You will find the exact details in your booking. Our ski school locations are right at the valley stations of Starjet 1 and Spacejet 1.
Which location should I book my course at?
Choose the location that is easiest to reach from your accommodation. Starjet 1 is right in the centre of Flachau and within walking distance of many hotels. Spacejet 1 is on Liftstraße and is especially convenient if you come by car or ski bus. There is a large car park right at the valley station.

Can I book ski equipment as well?
Yes. When you add your course to the basket, you can book the matching rental equipment straight away. At our rental partners Sport 2000 Perner, Sport Stangl and Sportzeit Flachau you also get 10% off ski and snowboard sets as a course participant.
For 2.5- to 3.5-year-old Toddler and 3.5- to 4-year-old Mini-Bambini in the 2-hour course, ski equipment is included free of charge.
Is there lunchtime supervision for children?
Yes. Lunchtime supervision for children up to 12 years can be booked separately from the ski course. It costs €20 per child per day. Food and drink are already included!
Can language requests be taken into account?
In our international team German, English, Dutch, Polish, Slovak and French are spoken. Let us know your language preference. We will try to take it into account when assigning groups. We cannot always promise a particular teaching language in group courses.
Can I cancel my ski course?
Yes. The earlier you cancel, the lower the cancellation costs:
- up to 30 days before the course starts: free cancellation
- 29 to 14 days before the course starts: 50% of the course price
- 13 to 8 days before the course starts: 75% of the course price
- from 7 days before the course starts: 100% of the course price
In case of illness or injury, on presentation of a medical certificate a pro-rata refund for course days not yet used is possible. You will find the full cancellation and rebooking terms in our terms and conditions (AGB).
