Skischule Flachau: on the pistes with passion since 1967
We are the oldest ski school in Flachau and have been firmly bound up with the winter sports resort since 1967. The main office of Skischule Flachau is right at the Starjet 1 valley station, in the middle of the village centre. What has set us apart over all these years? The joy of skiing, a well-rehearsed team and personal contact with our guests.
With us you should feel well looked after from the first contact to the last course day. To that end we combine long-standing experience with a family atmosphere, qualified ski instructors and an organisation that makes your ski holiday as straightforward as possible.

A lot has changed in our ski school since 1967. But one thing has stayed the same: we want you to feel at home with us, enjoy learning something new and make the most of your winter holiday.

- Family-run and personal: With us you’re not a booking number. We take time for your questions and wishes. Our ski school management is also on site in person and available to guests.
- Well organised: Our well-rehearsed team ensures clear processes and straightforward meeting points. Especially for families with children, this makes everyday life on a ski course much more relaxed.
- Doing it with joy: We want to pass our enthusiasm for skiing on to children, teenagers and adults. Because alongside learning progress, fun on the piste shouldn’t get overlooked either.
Our team: experience, training and a passion for skiing
Good ski lessons start with the people who deliver them. That’s why at Skischule Flachau we place great importance on the professional qualifications of our ski instructors and careful preparation for their tasks.
Well trained and thoroughly prepared
Our international team brings together different qualification levels and specialisations. These include
- regional ski instructors (Landesskilehrer),
- state-certified ski instructors,
- trained children’s ski instructors,
- ski instructors in training
- snowboard instructors,
- ski guides and
- mountain guides.
But training alone isn’t enough for us. New team members are given intensive induction by our ski school management. That’s how we maintain a high standard at the professional, teaching-method and sports-psychology levels alike.
Especially in children’s lessons we rely on an educational approach that takes different abilities, learning progress and needs into account.
An international team for an international audience
Our guests come from many countries. That’s why our ski instructor team is international too. The languages spoken include:
German, English, Dutch, Polish, Slovak and French.
We try to take language requests into account when organising courses. However, we can’t guarantee that every language is available in every course.

With Best Learn2Ski amadé, Ski amadé has developed a quality programme for ski lessons. It defines common standards for selected course offers and thus provides orientation for guests who value qualified lessons and reliable course organisation.

Skischule Flachau is there for you at two locations. At both valley stations you’ll find a ski school office as a point of contact for questions and for organising your ski course.

The main office of Skischule Flachau is right at the Starjet 1 valley station, next to the lift ticket office. Many places to stay in the village centre are within easy walking distance. A bus stop, our rental partners Sport 2000 Perner and Sport Stangl and the practice area are all close by.

Our second ski school office is opposite the Spacejet 1 valley station. Generous parking is available here. A ski bus stop, the children’s practice area and our rental partner Sportzeit Flachau are also very close by.

Ski instructor Basic / Snowboard instructor Basic
First level of ski/snowboard instructor training. These ski/snowboard instructors work mainly with beginners and slightly more advanced skiers.
Dual instructor Basic
First level of dual instructor training. These snow sports instructors teach skiing and snowboarding at the same level.
Children’s ski instructor
First level of ski instructor training. Specially geared to children’s lessons.
Regional ski instructor candidate (Landesskilehrer Anwärter) LS 1
Second level of ski instructor training. These ski instructors already have a broad range of expertise.
Dual instructor LS 1
Second level of dual instructor training. These dual instructors already have a broad range of expertise.

Third and very demanding level of training. These ski/snowboard instructors are ideally suited to any kind of lesson.

Additional qualification for state-certified ski instructors. It is part of the mountain guide training.
