In peak season we offer four-day snowboard group courses on request for beginners and advanced riders.
Course length and lesson times:

- Daily from 09:30–11:30 and 12:30–14:30
- Minimum number of participants: 4 people

Learning to snowboard as a beginner
When you stand on a snowboard for the first time, it’s first about developing a feel for the board and your own balance. The first riding techniques build on that.
Typical learning steps are:
- Balance: Finding the right basic stance and keeping your balance on the board.
- Gliding and braking: Practising your first gliding movements and controlling your speed.
- First turns: Learning changes of direction and drift turns, where the board slides over the snow in a controlled way.
- Riding lifts and easy pistes: Practising how to use the lifts and managing your first runs on easy blue pistes.
How quickly you make progress depends on your previous experience, your coordination and the time you spend practising.
Snowboard lessons for advanced riders
If you can already make turns on your own, the next step is to develop your technique in a targeted way and work up to more demanding situations.
Possible focus areas are:
- Turning technique and carving: Linking turns cleanly, controlling the edge change better and guiding the board through the turn more precisely.
- Steeper and more demanding pistes: Adapting your technique to red or steeper slopes and riding in control even in changing snow conditions.
- Tricks and jumping techniques: Practising your first tricks and jumps and developing your own feel for movement on the board.
- Deep snow and freeride: Adapting your riding technique to ungroomed snow and training controlled turns in deep snow.

Yes, our snowboard courses are also for complete beginners. You don’t need any previous experience. You start with the basics such as balance, gliding and braking. A bit of enthusiasm for movement, patience and a willingness to try new things are a good starting point. Our snowboard instructors in Flachau will be with you on your first attempts on the board. Depending on how quickly you learn, you may manage your first controlled gliding and braking moves on the very first day. How far you get also depends on your balance and coordination.
